Point being that was what CW was like when he was younger. Also, I was a little horrified that they seemed to justify the body disposal. As if being scared justifies digging a hole in the ground for your wife and cramming your children in oil tanks is understood, given the circumstances.

I actually stopped listening at that point.

They feel the manner in which the girls bodies were disposed means nothing. If you mention it you will be banned. Because of that I hold no validity to this recorded session. It is the equivalent of asking the guy I dated when I was 21 about my personality and likes 20 years later. Plenty of men murder their wives and yes, their kids, but we all know the judge was talking about the oil tanks and the shallow grave nearby. To ignore that is to whitewash what Chris did. It sounds like studmuffin Chris has himself some groupies out there.

Is this what you call reporting? Because I would think you would verify sources before posting this. Her own group members asked for proof of this girl and was told it was none of their business. Like I said in the post, I listened to the first 10 minutes, and I find it odd that the identity of the girlfriend is unclear. The shocking story of Chris Watts — the Colorado man who murdered his pregnant wife and two young daughters in August — is getting renewed attention after Lifetime released two new films Saturday revealing new details about the investigation that eventually resulted in his conviction.

Watts is serving five life sentences for the murders of his wife Shanann Watts, who was weeks pregnant at the time, and their daughters Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3, on August 13, He first claimed he strangled his wife to death in a fit of rage after she had smothered their daughters to death — purportedly as revenge for the husband asking for a separation. He pleaded guilty to all counts.

The Colorado man, charged with killing his pregnant wife and two daughters, has pleaded guilty Tuesday, Nov. Another figure -- Nichol Kessinger, the woman Chris was having an extramarital affair with at the time of the murders — is also portrayed in the film. She is reportedly in witness protection after she was cleared of wrongdoing.

She has stated that Chris told her that he was in the process of separating from his wife when they first began to date as co-workers, according to Inquisitr. The Watts Family has been the subject of other crime documentaries in the past. Now convict Chris Watts is serving life in prison after he finally admitted to the murders, which he originally denied as he played the role of heartbroken husband and father originally. The documentary aims to dive deep into the gut wrenching scenes and details from the investigation and really hone in on his downward spiral.

On that fateful morning in August, only hours after his wife Shannon, and daughters Bell and Celeste Watts were reported missing, Chris, then 34 recorded a few live interviews where he opened up about his grief.

He even shed tears as he played the role of a doting husband and loving father. Later, as he was confronted with undeniable police evidece, he broke down and admitted what actually happened. He shared that he woke up angry, and killed a pregnant Shannon 34 — who was pregnant at the time of the murder, carrying their not-yet-born son, Nico. He then admitted to killing his daughters Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3, after driving them to an oil field where he worked.

Shortly after they arrived, Chris killed them in the car and left their bodies in the oil tanks. He was given five life sentences without the possibility of parole, three to be served consecutively and two to be served concurrently. Now, Lifetime has created a feature film and a new documentary about the case, which are set to air back-to-back on the network this Saturday starting at 8 p.

Around 2 a. But when Nickole tried to get in touch with Shanann just a few hours later, she couldn't get ahold of her — and after Shanann missed an ob-gyn appointmentshe grew worried. Nickole decided to call Shanann's husband, Chris, at work. She also called the police. The police conducted an investigation of the Watts home that afternoon, and even though they found no signs of foul play, they did find Shanann's car and all of her personal belongings.

In the days that followed, Chris's story changed drastically. He initially told police that he had no idea where Shanann, Bella, and Celeste might be, and he began giving media appearances appealing to the community for help in finding his missing family. Meanwhile, investigators from the local police department, the CBI, and the FBI had been going through Chris's phone recordswhich showed that he had been having an affair with one of his coworkers from Anadarko Petroleum.

Then, on August 15 two days after his wife and daughters' disappearances Chris failed a polygraph test — and that's when everything changed. That afternoon, Chris vowed to tell police the truth if he could talk to his father first. Investigators took a gamble and allowed him to do so, and it worked: Chris confessed to his father that he had killed his wife.

Not long after, investigators found Shanann, Bella, and Celeste's bodies exactly where Chris said they were: at an Anadarko Petroleum site, with Shanann's body in a shallow grave and the two girls' bodies in oil tanks.

And so, on August 21,Chris was charged with his family's murders. In his initial confessionChris said that he had strangled Shanann in a "fit of rage" after watching her smother their two daughters, Bella and Celeste. She was upset, he said, because he had tried to talk to her about separating and ending their marriage, and she had retaliated by killing the girls. After murdering Shanann, he took the three bodies to the oil site and buried them, he said.

Come November, however, Chris's story had changed again. This time, he confessed to killing his wife and daughters and pleaded guilty to all nine counts against him : five counts of first-degree murder including two additional counts for his daughters because they were children under 12one count of unlawful termination of a pregnancy, and three counts of tampering with a deceased human body.

Ultimately, he was sentenced to five life sentences three consecutive and two concurrent for the murders, plus a total of 84 more years for the other crimes. Although Chris had pleaded guilty to all three murders, he hadn't yet told the real story of what happened on the morning of August 13, But in a five-hour follow-up interview with investigators from prison, Chris revealed the truth: After fighting with Shanann that morning about his wish to separate, Chris strangled her to death.

While he was trying to bring his wife's body downstairs, he said, Bella and Celeste woke up and came to ask him what was going on. He then loaded the girls and their mother's body into his truck, drove to the oil site, and smothered the girls one by one before disposing of the three bodies. Today, Chris is continuing to serve out his life sentences at a maximum security prison in Wisconsinwhere he was transferred because of "security concerns" in December When people go out and make things without their input Shanann and the girls are survived by her parents and brother.

But Shanann's loved ones are not in support of the new Lifetime movie, as their lawyer informed Inside Edition. The Lifetime movie does reportedly give some credence to the theory that the weight-loss medications pills and patches from Thrive, a brand that Shanann did sales work for that Chris was taking allegedly affected his ability to sleep and think clearly.Watts wore dark blue jeans, a dark navy blue t-shirt and rubber work boots with no laces.

He had one pant leg tucked in and the other out, which was unusual for the usually neat and snappy dresser. Watts had two pairs, and likely wore the black pair while disposing of the bodies and working on the hatches. This is typical apologia in a case like this where the killer is trying to minimize a premeditated murder into a random moment where he inexplicably lost his head. The snapping also breaks all contextual connections.

His snapping supposedly has nothing to do with the serious debt he was in, or his plans for the future. If he snapped he would still be emotionally overwhelmed, even remorseful or regretful when he calmed down hours later. We also know immediately after getting rid of the bodies Watts went into debt damage control mode — calling the school, calling Groupon about the hotel reservation and getting the ball rolling with his realtor. When are we going to start talking about that face — the second face — of Chris Watts?

I think those items are important, but not sure exactly how the fit into the big picture of the case. Insofar as I know, Nick has been the only regular crime writer to touch upon it.

Did any of the detectives or Tammy or Grahm ever ask him about any of that in any interview or interrogation? Like Liked by 2 people. I understand that the detectives wanted to keep Chris talking and possibly open to another interview at a later time, but maybe it would have been helpful if they had mixed in a few more probing questions here and there. Most mainstream media has just basically regurgitated the already known parts of the case, while the Watts family financial problems, a major catalyst in the whole thing, have been, for the most part, conspicuously absent.

Like Liked by 1 person. Financial problems! Yet sound of crickets. We know they had a hearing on the Monday after the murders about money owed to the association. Was either of them planning on attending? Apparently not? We know they were months behind on mortgage payments and foreclosure loomed.

The family was in the eye of a hurricane of financial disaster. When you feel your husband slipping away and you desperately want to reel him back in, you fight with his parents, disallow him from taking his kids to see them, and constantly beat the drum about how they tried to poison their grand daughter? Probably not going to work. He and his wife were in a deep hole of denial. A true thing Kessinger said was that he would have committed these crimes with or without her in the picture, that she may have accelerated the crisis.

Most of all, we can't help but ask ourselves the same questions over and over: How could a seemingly kind, loving family man live such a double life? Why would he murder not just his wife but also his two innocent daughters and unborn son?

And how could he dispose of his children in such a callous and gruesome way -- by shoving their bodies inside crude oil tanks and walking away? These same questions still plague investigators, even though Watts has been behind bars since Augustand is set to remain there for the rest of his life. The 1-hour doc features interviews with local reporters, investigators, and crime experts, as well as new details from Watts's jailhouse confession.

Police were called to the house by Shan'ann Watts's best friend, Nickole Atkinson, who had failed to hear from Shan'ann that morning after sending countless texts. When she showed up to Shan'ann's home in the late morning, she saw her car was in the driveway and her shoes were still by the door. But despite countless knocks, no one was answering. Frantic, Atkinson called Chris, who seemed to shrug off that anything was serious -- but he rushed back to the Frederick, Colorado, home as soon as she called the cops.

Once there, body cam footage shows Watts walking through his home seemingly unbothered by the fact that his pregnant wife and daughters are missing. Even more incriminating is the moment a neighbor shows Watts and the officer security footage from his home, which captures Watts backing his flatbed up to the garage in the early morning hours and loading something inside.

That something was Shan'ann's body, though the chilling truth wouldn't be learned until days later. Only then does Watts grow nervous and fidgety -- unusual behavior that even the neighbor points out to the officer once they have a moment alone. Watts is serving life in prison for the murders of Shan'ann, their unborn baby, Nico, and daughters Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3.

During a jailhouse confession in February, Watts said he strangled his wife Shan'ann while she lay in their bed in the early morning hours of August It happened just hours after she arrived home from a business trip and, he says, shortly after they had sexwhen Watts claims Shan'ann confronted him about having an affair.

When the discussion quickly moved to getting a divorce, Watts says he snapped after Shan'ann told him, "You're never going to see the kids. Family Man, Family Murder unravels the horrifying details of what happened next, through Watts's own confession and the police investigation.

The recovery of the girls' bodies -- which had to be carefully removed from the crude oil tanks where their dad had stuffed them -- was particularly troubling for investigators.
